NAIA Terminal 2, A Review

Let's start from the beginning, the airport, the jump point of most destinations and adventures!

My favorite airport in the Philippines is the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2, otherwise known as the Centennial Airport. It currently serves international and domestic flights of our flag carrier, Philippine Airlines. I love NAIA 2 for its simplicity and average size. The new NAIA 3, which primarily serves Cebu Pacific, is too big, impersonal and a bit overwhelming for me. Give me Terminal 2 any day. :)

Here are some notes and photos I took of the Centennial Airport Domestic Wing on my way to Cebu two Thursdays ago. I hope that this would be able to help first-time travelers and foreign tourists who will be using NAIA 2 as their gateway to their destinations and vacations.

Cebu Pacific's Plane Truth Sale

There's an ongoing Cebu Pacific Seat Sale until Monday, July 19, which they call "Nothing But Plane Truth". The travel dates for the sale is from November 1 to 30, 2010. There are 32,000 seat up for grabs on this sale.

Here are the details:

You deserve nothing but the PLANE truth, so pack your bags and fly on our P320 ‘Go Lite’ seat sale to all our domestic destinations starting now until July 19, 2010, for travel from November 1-30, 2010.

The P320 CEB seat sale to any domestic destination slashes as much as 84% off the lowest year-round ‘Go Lite’ fare flights from Manila to Davao, Surigao and Cagayan de Oro, among others.

Included in the seat sale are flights to Boracay (Caticlan), Cebu, Dumaguete, Naga, Legazpi, Bacolod, Iloilo, Palawan (Puerto Princesa), Coron (Busuanga) and Bohol (Tagbilaran).

Aside from the domestic promo, Manila-Osaka flights are also on sale for as low as P2,999 ‘Go’ seats. This is for travel from September 1 to October 31, 2010.

Don't wait until the last minute! Go ahead and book your well-deserved holiday at www.cebupacificair.com.

As usual, I tried and did some mock booking to really know how cheap the airfare tickets are on this particular sale. I booked for a round trip Manila-Dumaguete seat and cost is only Php 768.00 ($16.50) including taxes and surcharges. It's a pretty decent seat  sale, though not as cheap as the one I got during the Inaugural Seat Sale last June. It's worth considering since some of their "sale" is Php 999 ($21.48) and above.

Happy Travel!

How To Get A Cebu Pacific Promo Ticket

The travel lifestyle of the Filipinos changed when Cebu Pacific launched their Zero/Piso Promo Fares years ago. A lot were amazed and astonished on how they managed to do it. Other airlines tried to follow and recreate the low fare promotions in varying degrees but Cebu Pacific remained as the top choice for budget travelers.

I  already bought so many travel tickets through the years as a result of these promos and discounted fares. I already bought and used tickets to Cebu, Boracay (Caticlan), Puerto Princesa and even Hong Kong. So, I would like to share with you some tips on how to effectively book and buy tickets from Cebu Pacific Promos that is now a regular thing for the airline.

Cebu Pacific Is On Sale For President Noy!

There's a lot of specials, promotions and memorabilia in celebration of the upcoming inauguration on June 30 of our 15th President, Noynoy Aquino. One of them, and the most enticing I've read and seen so far, is the Php 15.00 ($0.32) Domestic Travel Ticket Sale of Cebu Pacific. which they called "The Chosen JUAN". It's not yet announced publicly but their official Twitter account already made the announcement hours ago. Travelers can already book and avail discounted tickets through the Cebu Pacific Air website.

I tried it myself and I was able to book for a trip to Puerto Princesa on November 2010 for 3 days. I only paid Php 158.80 ($3.45) for a round trip ticket including taxes and surcharges. I also tried to book myself for an International Flight and got a Php 3,793 ($80.70) fare, also on November, for a Manila-Singapore-Manila route.

Here are some tips: Cebu Pacific usually announce their sales and  promotions a day ahead through their official Facebook or Twitter accounts. I also noticed that they primarily have seat sale promos before the end of the month. Duration for this particular promo is until June 30 for October to November 30 , 2010 travel dates.

On a personal note, I can't wait to go to Puerto Princesa and experience the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. Filipinos should really visit the Underground River NOW before it become very expensive and popular due to the New 7 Wonders of Nature recognition that it's expected to get by next year.

I Am In Bohol

I am in Bohol and blogging.

We just got in our hotel after a nice by the beach shore dinner at one of the restaurants along Alona Beach here in Panglao Island. We are so beat and tired after a full day of Cultural Tour all over the Bohol province. Whew!

So what we been up to?

THE FLIGHT THAT I ALMOST MISSED
The most stupid thing I did today was sleep after I posted my blog entry last night. I should have NOT slept at all because I almost missed my early morning flight. I race through the airport and I arrived at the NAIA Terminal 3 around 7:30 am for an 8:00 am flight. Good thing there was an Express Lane counter so I was able to make it without checking-in my baggage.

I met Libay, Marj and Anna near the boarding gates; and went inside our Tagbilaran flight with a queasy feeling. Blame it to anxiety and stress of a maddening week at work. It turned out to be the worst flight I had in my life. Cebu Pacific did not do anything wrong and I was actually entertained by their in-flight activities but I was just too out of the weather. I was really happy when I heard Bob, the Flight Attendant, said “We’ve just landed at Tagbilaran National Airport”. I was one of the first people to go down from the plane.

There are only four of us on the trip!
